Essential Oils for Luscious Hair Growth



In a previous video, I talked about the reasons for hair loss and thinning hair and the connection to hormones especially thyroid, estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone.

There have been studies that show how essential oils can help with hair loss. Just a reminder...this is not an overnight process and it takes about 3-6 months. Be patient!

When a woman conceives, she doesn’t actually see the evidence until nine months later. We can expect to see some improvement in the hair quality and texture but actual growth may take longer.

Essential Oils:

#1 Rosemary - is very stimulating and has anti-androgen, anti-oxidant, and detoxifying properties, this is very helpful for the liver and thyroid too.

#2 Peppermint - a study demonstrated that using topical peppermint enhanced hair growth by increasing dermal thickness, follicle number, and follicle depth; it’s a very stimulating oil, think of it as coffee for the hair follicles.

#3 Ylang Ylang – is another very relaxing and calming effect with antioxidant properties.

#4 Lavender – this is one of the most widely used oils in beauty products, probably because of its ability to promote tissue regeneration; it also has vasodilating properties and calming effects as most hair loss is related to stress hormones.

How to use:

#1 Add rosemary oil and peppermint oil to your shampoo and wash as normal.

#2 Add ylang ylang oil to your conditioner.

#3 Apply rosemary oil with a few drops of jojoba oil in your scalp and let it sit for an hour and then wash hair thoroughly.

#4 Add a 1-2 of drops of each with jojoba oil and massage in your scalp and hair and let it air dry.
