Top 6 Remedies for Joint Pain

NSAIDs are not the only option when it comes to joint pain. Looking for alternatives with less side effects? Here are the top six remedies:

  1. Aloe vera-can be taken orally for osteoarthritis. Aloe vera is a great anti-inflammatory that not only helps relieve joint pain, but also soothes an irritated stomach.

  2. Boswellia-effective in treating inflammation and pain from osteoarthritis and can also help with rheumatoid arthritis. Does not irritate the stomach like NSAIDs.

  3. Capsaicin-found in chili peppers, can be applied topically. Capsaicin interferes with pain signals and helps relieve pain if used regularly.

  4. Flaxseed-a great lubricant for joints and helps decrease joint pain and stiffness due to its content of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, which have anti-inflammatory properties.

  5. Green tea-green tea contains anti-inflammatory polyphenols that help with bone and cartilage, therefore ideal for individuals with joint problems.

  6. Turmeric-popular for treating arthritis as it helps regulate the immune system response. Curcumin, the active ingredient in turmeric, helps with swelling and pain relief.
