How Do I Get Back on a Healthy Eating Plan?
We all have busy schedules and the first that goes out the window is not thinking about what you are going to eat that day. Taking the kids to school and after school extracurricular activities, cleaning the house, performing well at work, laundry, etc. and the last thing we think about is what’s for lunch or dinner and we go back to our old habits. Does this sound familiar?
Don’t sweat the small stuff. Just because you get one flat tire while you are driving, you don’t get out of the car and slash the remaining three tires, right? I have never seen this. You stop the behavior and do a 180 and move forward.
Some simple steps to implement and for getting you back on track are:
Realization - realize you made one wrong decision; write about it in your food journal why you did it and have some closure.
Move on – let it go and be intentional about what you are doing daily; morning visualization techniques for your day are great.
Call a friend – when you have an accountability buddy he or she will give you words of encouragement.
Drink water - drink 8 ounces of water with lemon first thing in the morning and throughout the day; many times we confuse hunger for thirst.
Eat protein – a smoothie with protein and fat (avocado or coconut oil) will help you feel satisfy as you do something good for your body.
Plan - have a plan if you happen to deviate from your healthy eating plan; it could be a 24 hour green juice fast; green juice and vegetable soups or 24 hours.
Remember - We all need to remember how amazing we feel when we love the way our bodies look and feel and why we practice a healthy lifestyle.
Love yourself and your body because you are with YOU 24 hours a day.
