DIY Baking Soda & Coconut Oil Skin Exfoliator
Try this facial exfoliator for healthier, more beautiful skin without harmful ingredients...
One of my rules for skin care products has been if you can’t eat, don’t put it on your skin. I have used coconut oil with a few drops of essential oils for years with and with satisfying results. I like to use frankincense oil with coconut oil for my face and lavender oil with coconut oil for my body. I love the smell and the health benefits of non-toxic alternatives.
Many of today's personal care products and beauty products have endocrine disruptors that create hormone chaos in millions of men and women each year. This tends to happen more with women since we are enamored with staying young and flawless. The beauty industry is an unregulated industry, therefore, anything goes because they get to protect their trade secrets.
If you want noticeably beautiful, flawless skin, without toxic chemicals, then it’s time to mix a couple of ingredients probably already in your kitchen.
Forget About the Expensive Anti-aging and Flawless Skin Products
Keep it basic...let your skin breathe and wash it with something that you can eat. Coconut oil is used in our home for cooking and baking and so is baking soda. It’s on our checklist for facial cleansing products. We also love to make our own charcoal face mask which is a fun, girly thing to do with the girls in the house. Guys, you can try this too!
Foods for Flawless Skin
If you want flawless skin and want to get rid of the acne, the first strategy is to eat unprocessed foods, lots of vegetables, healthy fats, and clean proteins like wild caught fish, hormone free poultry, beef, eggs, low sugar fruits and lots of water! Simple, right?
Coconut Oil for Beautiful Skin
The strategy for beautiful skin from the outside is the 1:1 ratio of coconut oil and baking soda.
Coconut oil has antiviral and antibacterial properties along with moisturizing benefits for beautiful skin. So that means it will kill the bacteria that creates pimples. It also has anti-inflammatory properties which can help alleviate symptoms of psoriasis, eczema, and other skin conditions.
Baking Soda for Smooth Radiant Skin
Baking soda for your skin? What?! The name you may not recognize is sodium bicarbonate, which has been used as a leavening agent (creating a fluffiness) in baked goods, is highly alkaline, and has a salty and bitter taste.
Combined with coconut oil it’s a great gentle exfoliator because of its gritty texture and alkaline properties.
Simply mix and apply it on your face in circular motions and let it sit for 5 minutes. Remove with warm water and rinse off in a circular motion. Try this 3 times a week and watch how beautiful your skin looks and feels.
