Ready to Get a Flat Stomach with a Cranberry Detox Drink?

Getting a flat stomach does not happen with exercise alone.

The most effective method is a combination of a clean diet and exercise. If you eat a clean diet, you can get away with less exercise, however, it won't work the other way around.

One of Jillian Michaels secrets is cranberry juice. Most people associate cranberries with urinary tract infection remedies. However a combination of unsweetened cranberry juice, lemon, apple cider vinegar, and a dash of sea salt could be the magical health and weight loss drink.

Here's why...

Unsweetened Cranberry juice is an excellent source of antioxidants and encourages more frequent urination.

Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) with the mother has powerful healthy compounds including potassium, magnesium, probiotics, enzymes, and acetic acid which kills the bad bacteria and promotes the growth of good bacteria. ACV is also known to suppress appetite and reduce sugar cravings by decreasing blood sugar levels. Many of my diabetic patients drink 1-2 tablespoons of ACV in 2 ounces of water 15 minutes before meals and have noticed a change in the after-meal glucose readings.

Lemon is alkalizing and a great stimulate for the liver as it has Vitamin C, Vitamin B6, Vitamin E, potassium, magnesium, folate, thiamine, and copper. It helps aid in digestion by stimulating the liver to produce bile and moving food through the digestive tract. The vitamin C acts as an antioxidant which helps fight free radical damage. Free radicals contribute to aging and many inflammatory conditions. Lemons also contain pectin, a fiber found in fruits, that help you feel full longer.

Sea salt is rich in trace minerals and is very different from table salt. It contains 60 trace minerals and many important electrolytes like calcium, magnesium, potassium, and sodium. Inadequate salt in one's diet can be linked to insufficient production of hydrochloric acid (HCL) in the stomach, which will affect the digestive system. In addition, low potassium levels can cause lethargy and sugar cravings. Therefore, mineral balance is vital for many bodily functions.
